Solidarity with Gaza Border Communities Bus Tour
Wednesday, 28 Kislev, December 12, 08:00
We will take a bus from Tel Aviv for a special solidarity tour that includes getting to know the residents of the Gaza Strip border communities, who have lived in a very tense security situation over the last few years. We will begin with a visit to Sderot and a meeting with students who live and volunteer in the city and study at the Sapir College.
From there we will travel to Kibbutz Niram, where we will visit the Water and Security Museum, which tells the story of local settlement before the founding of the state. Kibbutz members will describe their experiences over the past few years and talk about daily life in a tense security situation.
We will continue to the Niram reservoir that was built by KKL-JNF, where KKL-JNF Western Negev employees, foresters and earthworks people will tell us about working under constant rocket barrages.
We will visit the Black Arrow site, which was built as an educational site by veterans of the 890th Battalion with the help of KKL-JNF, and hear about the infiltrators and retaliation strikes in the Gaza Strip region during the 1950s.
From there, we will travel to the Shalom Bloc communities, which were built with KKL-JNF's help for the Yamit Region evacuees in the 1980s, and the Halutzit communities, which are presently being built with KKL-JNF's help for the Gush Katif evacuees.
We will conclude with lighting the fifth Hanukah candle.

Fee: NIS 110 per participant, NIS 90 for e-Yarok members, including transportation, guide, security and entrance fees.
