No two forests are the same; young and old, broad-leafed and conifers, temperate and desert – each has a spirit all its own, and a unique character.

KKL-JNF’s Planning Division provides the basis for the organization’s long-term planning by means of its Development Administration and ongoing activities planning. The Planning Division is staffed by professionals at both the head office and regional levels.

Preventing Forest Fires
Israel's Mediterranean climate is typified by warm, dry and rainless summers. When temperatures run high and hot, dry winds blow. Fires start easily and are hard to extinguish. KKL-JNF plays a major role in preventing and extinguishing wildfires.

When forests in Israel are ravaged by missiles, arson or wildfires, KKL-JNF takes upon itself the immense task of rehabilitating them, so that they can be enjoyed by people and wildlife once again.
