The Yom Haatzmaut & KKL-JNF Connection
|
|
From the time of its inception in 1901, KKL-JNF played a pivotal role in the establishment of the State of Israel. The lands that KKL-JNF bought on behalf of the Jewish people formed the contours for what would be the State of Israel. KKL-JNF continues to develop, build and nurture the land today.

This year, the theme of the Bible Quiz is its fiftieth year, its jubilee year.
In addition to the group of judges, the panel will include the presidential officers—the chairman of KKL-JNF, the chairman of the Jewish Agency, the chief military rabbi and the chairman of the Defense Social branch of the Ministry of Defense.
The 53 contestants are from all over the world—Australia, USA, Canada, Brazil, Holland, Ireland, Switzerland, Colombia, Romania, Uruguay, South Africa, Finland, England, Argentina, Poland, Mexico, France, Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary and Israel.
After the contest, which will be taking place on Israel Independence Day, the contestants and their group leaders will be arriving at the KKL-JNF Field and Forest Center in Nes Harim for four days of activities with the KKL-JNF Youth and Education Department. Among the activities planned for them are an archeological excavation in Adulam-France Park, a tour of Tel Azeka and British Park, bike riding on Burma Road, tree planting in Nachshon Forest, activities with the KKL-JNF activity-mobile and a night activity around a campfire.
Every participant in the Bible Contest will plant a tree and be inscribed in the KKL-JNF Golden Book.
KKL-JNF's 65th Yom Haatzmaut Emblem
Each year, KKL-JNF's Youth and Education Department creates a special emblem in honor of Yom Haatzmaut. The sticker is made from environmentally friendly biodegradable materials based on corn-starch, and is designed to sit nicely on the front of a shirt or jacket lapel by means of a strong and reusable sticky backing.
The design was produced in honor of Israel's 65th birthday.
The cost for educational institutions per sticker: 1 NIS
