International Clean Up Day "made aliya” to Israel in 2001 at the initiative of JNF Australia. In its first year, Clean Up Day took place in Beersheba, attracting 2,500 volunteers. Since then, the number of participants has grown consistently, and this year, 100,000 people all over Israel participated in Clean Up Day, organized by KKL-JNF.
