On their first trip to Israel, Hollywood stars Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts, along with their two children Sacha and Kai, helped green the land by planting a pistachio tree in the northern Galilee with KKL-JNF.
Naomi read the prayer that is recited when planting trees in the land of Israel, while Liev planted the supple pistachio tree seedling. Liev and Naomi were in Israel to promote JNF America's fundraising campaign for KKL-JNF's water reservoir building projects in the wake of Israel's ever-worsening water crisis. During their visit, they will be filming clips on water reservoirs and how they help man and the environment.
Like Watts and Schriber, Israeli celebrities also joined the campaign for conserving water in Israel. KKL-JNF hopes that everyone's efforts will be successful and that in addition to the 200 water reservoirs already built by KKL-JNF with the help of its friends worldwide, it will be possible to build additional reservoirs to help Israel's ailing water economy.
