Avi Kasahun served in many forestry positions during his 31 years of work for KKL-JNF. After his retirement, KKL-JNF was lucky, getting him back as a volunteer who contributes to its activities on behalf of the people and the environment in Israel.
The volunteers of KKL-JNF's Rangers Unit ride their horses in the forests in the center of the country and help protect them, increase hikers' sense of security, and encourage the residents of the area to be involved and take responsibility for protecting nature.
It's hard to say what Avi Ben Shmuel, who is responsible for the volunteers in the Ilanot Botanical Garden, loves more: the trees in the Garden or the people who visit it. A tour with him along the Garden's paths produce innumerable stories about both.
